NewTek announces the TriCaster Elite 2

It’s a new TriCaster . . . the TriCaster Elite 2! More than just a rehash of previous TriCasters . . . the TriCaster Elite 2 adds a wealth of new features for today’s world of doing things and even brings back a few that kind of went away.

It’s big . . . a full-size, 3U rackmountable system with dual-power supplies. It has lots and lots of SDI and NDI connectors for bringing in video with audio and sending it out in all sorts of directions . . . SDI, NDI, SRT, RTMP, you name it. Need to bring in a remote-caller via Skype, GoToMeeting or Zoom? You can do it. Need to record files and stream to multiple destinations at the same time? Again, you can do it. Like to work with MS Word, Chrome or PhotoShop for content creation and bringing in on-line sources? You can easily do it with this new system from the fine folks at NewTek . . . .

Everyone these days is using video conferencing software to hold office meetings. The
TriCaster Elite 2 includes NewTek’s Live Call Collect for working with Skype, Teams, Zoom, GoToMeeting, Discord and Tencent. Live Call Connect can bring in up to 9 remote callers as independent sources and includes Mix Minus and TalkBack tools for professional results.

The TriCaster Elite 2 has eight (8!) 3G-SDI inputs for bringing in video cameras and other traditional video sources (that’s the part they brought back for you TriCaster 860 and 8000 users).  You can bring in up to 24 NDI sources at up to 4K resolution. This includes NDI-enabled PTZ and traditional video cameras, NDI converters that bring in HDMI (and SDI) video sources, NDI apps like NewTek ScanConverter for bring in a laptop display and much, much more. You can also bring in SRT/RTMP/RTSP/RTP streaming sources.

Traditional analog audio hasn’t been overlooked. The TriCaster Elite 2 includes a pair of XLR inputs and outputs plus three pairs of phone inputs and a pair of phone outputs along with a headphone connector.

The output side is equally generous. You have eight (8!) independent 3G-SDI outputs for sending out different signals to feed external recorders, screens and other displays. Or you can use those eight SDI output connectors for sending out a pair of 4K outputs (as a pair of four BNC or
quad-link signals). You have up to 48 IP outputs including NDI and SRT . . . with two independent streams at up to 4K. Four multiviewers help you to keep track of all of these options for input and output sources. 4 DDRs are also included for playing back video clips, titles and other graphics.

As an added bonus, NewTek’s Premium Access software is included with the TriCaster 2 elite . . . you get Live Story Creator for running shows from scripts written with MS Word . . . LivePanel for remotely-operating the system from a laptop or mobile device . . . Live Graphics for creating
animated titles using Adobe PhotoShop and After Effects . . . LiveMatte for virtual sets . . . NDI KVM for remote option . . . and Advanced Audio I/O for Dante and AES67 audio support.

All in all . . . this is a great systems with lots of new features and the capability to take you far into the future.
